Marcy Bursac

Family Enrichment

Marcy Bursac turned a deeply personal experience into a national resource for families considering adoption. When two children entered her home through foster care, she discovered how difficult it was for prospective parents to navigate the system and how many children were still waiting for families. Determined to close that gap, she began mentoring families, answering questions in her living room, and sharing guidance through a blog.

In 2020 she founded The Forgotten Adoption Option and published a practical guide for adoptive parents. Since then, Marcy has written four books, launched a national research study influencing policy discussions, and created a school reading program that helps adopted children feel understood. Marcy has educated more than 12,000 prospective adoptive parents and reached hundreds of students. Her work has helped thousands of families move from uncertainty to action.
