Congratulations, Woman of Achievement Darlene Roy (Class of 2003). On October 25 during the Mid-America Workforce Investment Board’s (MAWIB) Annual Recognition Breakfast, Darlene was honored as an outgoing
board member. She has been a MAWIB board member since 1999; was the first African American woman to serve as 1st vice chair; and, as the chair of the marketing committee, she initiated this annual recognition event so that the clients, businesses and their journeys could be recognized. Four of the County Board chairmen stood with Rich Sauget, MAWIB Board Chairman, as he presented Darlene the award. (The MAWIB board oversees management of the federal WIOA workforce development funds for a five-county service area including Clinton, Monroe, Randolph, Washington, and St. Clair, with six offices located in those counties (Local Workforce Innovation Area #24).
