Kudos to Woman of Achievement Joan Lipkin(Class of 2020) for producing a very successful Climate Change Theatre Action(CCTA) 2021 in the Central West End last month. The event was part of an international ecology movement representing over 250 events in 30 countries that use the arts to call attention to the most pressing issue of our time. Joan’s #stl event, presented by That Uppity Theatre Company, featured 8 short plays in 4 local art galleries, 2 outdoor dance performances, and tables by local environmental educational groups. The event attracted nearly 400 people and was featured in St. Louis Magazine and KMOX News. Joan also sponsored a downtown rally about the fossil fuel industry that was covered by St. Louis Public Radio. While we can’t post all the great coverage here, do check out these photos and SLM’s article, “Climate Change Theatre Action is bringing art and activism to the Central West End” (https://www.stlmag.com/culture/theater/Climate-Change-Theatre-Action-is-bringing-art-and-activism-to-the-Central-West-End/)
