Melinda Ligon, D.O.

Cultural Enrichment

After a 25-year career as an ER physician, Melinda Ligon wanted to make a difference in St. Louis. She first volunteered with BJC Hospice, and then Stray Rescue, walking their beloved dogs. Her life-long love of theater and dance led to her volunteer involvement with theater in prisons via Prison Performing Arts. She felt strongly that incarcerated individuals should meet their second chances with skills and confidence. Laughing Bear Bakery fit right in by hiring people previously involved in the justice system. Presently she is on the boards of both Stray Dog Theatre and Dance St Louis. Her involvement encourages others to pursue new interests while increasing audiences and funding for these organizations.
