Terrie Desloge

Neurodiverse Advocacy

Terrie Desloge transformed a personal challenge into a lifeline for families across the region. After her daughter Faith was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy, Terrie saw firsthand the urgent need for environments where children with complex needs could find calm, safety and acceptance. In response, she founded The Synapsory, a nonprofit dedicated to sensory regulation and inclusion for neurodiverse children and teens as well as youth who have experienced trauma. Through sensory kits, specialized training and sensory-motor rooms, the organization supports children, families and caregivers.

Terrie also developed Missouri’s first Snoezelen sensory and motor room, offering free respite care to parents of children with special needs. Her work has helped thousands of families across Missouri and more than five additional states feel supported, understood and connected.
